Financial Support

The District is grateful for the support shown by the Scotts Valley community. The community has supported our schools financially through construction bonds, donations to the Scotts Valley Education Foundation, and generous donations in years past to the Dollar a Day effort.

Construction Bonds:

In 1994 the community approved a $22.7 million bond to construct a new high school, to repair existing elementary and middle schools and modernize existing schools.  Unfortunately the cost of these projects exceeded the funding available, reducing the scope of the bond issue to the construction of the high school and modernizing Brook Knoll and Vine Hill.

Scotts Valley Education Foundation:

The Scotts Valley Education Foundation provides funding for enrichment programs and education materials to enhance the solid academic curriculum and maintain the high quality of education in the Scotts Valley School District. The Scotts Valley Education Foundation (SVEF) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The Foundation currently supports district-wide programs such as music, art, technology and instructional programs.

Dollar a Day:

The Dollar a Day program, funded by generous parents and community members during the 2003-04 and 2004-05 school years, was instrumental in saving positions during two years of worse than usual funding from the state. During this time donations of approximately $480,000 were raised to support programs such as class size reduction teachers, library clerks, school counselors and assistant principals. The program became part of the Scotts Valley Education Foundation’s efforts to support the district.
